From: PCR-based reverse genetics strategy for bluetongue virus recovery
Identification of BTV1seg2 with part segment 2 gene sequencing. The recovery BTV dsRNA was extracted and amplified with RT-PCR by the BTV-2IT(L) segment 2 specific primers. The PCR amplicon was sequenced and aligned with segment 2 of BTV2IT(L) (JN255863), and the aligned results showed that the PCR amplicon was a part of this BTV2 segment 2. These results indicated that reassortant BTV1, which exchanged segment 2 with segment 2 of BTV2IT(L) (JN255863), was successfully rescued
