Determination of the 5′ end of the SGIV ICP46 gene transcripts by 5′ RACE analysis. The transcription start site (TSS) is position + 1. Sequence printed with shadow shows the 5′-untranslated region (5′-UTR). Primers used for 5′ RACE analysis are indicated as GSP1, GSP2, and GSP3 with double underline. Total ORF of SGIV ICP46 is 1149 nt. Bold sequences represent the TATA-box and CAAT-box like sequences. Framed sequence represent potential downstream promoter element (DPE). Underlined sequence show the binding region with virion-associated transcriptional transactivator (VATT)
