From: A heat-inactivated H7N3 vaccine induces cross-reactive cellular immunity in HLA-A2.1 transgenic mice
Frequency of HLA-A2-restricted influenza specific CD8+ T cells in AAD mice with pre-existing immunity to PR8 virus. Groups of naïve mice (7/group) were infected i.n. under anesthesia with 102.4 TCID50 of PR8 virus. Six weeks later, they were injected i.p. with PBS (a) or 500 HAU of HI-H7N3 virus (b). Nine days after vaccination, the mice were sacrificed and influenza-specific CD8+ T cell responses were measured in cells from freshly isolated splenocytes of individual mice by using an ex vivo IFN-γ-ELISPOT assay with the indicated peptides.
