The constructs containing the 2.6 kb and 2.2 kb-long 5' upstream regions were evaluated for hsc70B promoter activity during ONNV infection (MOI = 0.001). The luciferase activity was measured at 60 h post ONNV infection when CPE became apparent. The hsc70B promoter activity, as measured by relative luciferase activity (mean ± SD), was significantly elevated in both constructs when compared to uninfected controls (2.2 kb uninfected vs. infected: P < 0.01, t = 4.702, df = 6; 2.6 kb uninfected vs. infected: P < 0.01, t = 5.681, df = 6).Back to article page
