Cellular miRNAs may bind the viral mRNAs and thereby promote the viral replication e.g. miR-122, a liver specific miRNA that can promote HCV RNA replication. The cellular miRNAs can bind to the viral genes and limit the HCV RNA replication e.g. miR-199a-3p and miR-196. Finally cellular miRNAs might promote or limit the viral replication by inhibition of the cellular mRNAs.Back to article page
