  1. aGroups of five guinea pigs were slightly anesthetized and inoculated intranasally or intramuscularly with 104.3 EID50 of test virus (300 μl volume, 150 μl per nostril). Virus was not detected in the spleen, kidney, colon or brain of any animal inoculated with the SW/3/06 virus; data not shown. –, virus not detected in undiluted samples.
