Expression of HBV capsids and HBeAg in HepG2.2.15 cells is affected by epirubicin, mitomycin, 5-fluorouracil, dexamethasone, leflunomide, and mycophenolic acid. HepG2.2.15 cells were treated with increasing concentrations of cytotoxic chemotherapy drugs, epirubicin (a), mitomycin (b), and 5-fluorouracil (c), for 16 h, and increasing concentrations of immunosuppressants, dexamethasone (d), leflunomide (e), and mycophenolic acid (f), for 5 days. Intact intracellular capsids were detected by immunoblotting with an anti-HBV core protein antibody after NAGE (upper). Levels of secreted HBeAg were determined by ELISA (bottom); values are the mean of three isodose treatments, error bars indicate SD, and differences between groups are statistically significant (p < 0.05)
