Detection of the NA activity of HN mutants. NA activity is the ability to cleave the receptor and release progeny virus particles. The NA assay was performed according to the procedures of Neuraminidase Assay Kit (Beyotime, China). Fluorescence was measured with excitation and emission wavelengths of 360 and 460 nm, respectively. The values were expressed as percentages of that of wt HN. (*, P < 0.05; **, P < 0.01; otherwise, P > 0.05)
