EOS physically interacts with Tax but not HBZ. Physical interactions between EOS and HTLV-1 regulatory factors (i.e., Tax or HBZ) were investigated by co-immunoprecipitation. The input samples (3%, lanes 1 to 4) and resin-bound proteins (lanes 5 to 8) were subjected to SDS-PAGE followed by western blot analysis. A. Western blot analysis performed on immunoprecipitated EOS protein (EOS-FLAG) revealed a weak but specific physical interaction between EOS and Tax. B. In contrast, no such interaction was demonstrated between EOS and HBZ.
