In ovo delivery of dsRNA reduces H4N6 LPAIV infection encountered pre-hatch. SPF ED18 eggs were treated either with dsRNA (n = 3–5) at 250μg per egg or PBS (n = 3–4) and infected with 1X10⁴ PFU per eggs H4N6 LPAIV at ED19 in ovo. The lungs were isolated in 1 ml PBS at ED20 and viral titers were determined on MDCK cells using plaque assay. Student’s t-test was done to identify group differences and the differences were considered significant at P < 0.05. The quantitative data are given as the mean ± standard error of mean (SEM) and representative images of plaque assay plates are also given for each group.
