From: Expression pattern of CD11c on lung immune cells after disseminated murine cytomegalovirus infection

Fig. 6

Distinct expression patterns of CD11c and B220 on NK cells of BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice. Control and MCMV groups of BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice were generated as described above. Lung and spleen samples were harvested and NK cells analyzed at 1, 3, 5 and 7 days post infection (dpi). a Lung NK cells from each group at different dpi are shown based on their expression of B220 and CD11c. B220−CD11c− and B220−CD11cint NK cells are the major NK cells in lungs of BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice, respectively. After MCMV infection, the proportions of B220−CD11cint in BALB/c mice and B220+CD11cint in C57BL/6 mice were significantly increased, with both peaking at 3 dpi. An obviously higher proportion of B220+CD11cint was observed in C57BL/6 mice. b Spleen NK cells from each group at different dpi are shown based on their expression of B220 and CD11c. B220+CD11c− is one of the major constituents of spleen NK cells, without obvious change after MCMV infection, the proportion of which was much higher than that in lung
