The viral titers in tears of mice inoculated with each virus clone to cornea. Mice were infected with each virus clone at the dose of 1 × 106 PFU through corneal inoculation. Tears were collected every day for 7-day observation period. Viral titer in tears were determined by plaque forming assay in Vero cells. All the mice inoculated with HSV-1 TAS or CL19 died within 6 and 7 days p.i., respectively
