  1. The amino acid sequence derived from each clone was compared to a reference sequence from the same genotype chosen in order to standardize our comparison. The locations of residues with regard to the MHR are given at the top of each group and gray shading region belong to “ɑ” determinant. Each reference or substituted amino acid is represented in the aa or S line, the number of clones with the change are indicated in the N line. red letter indicates HBV genotype-specific amino acid.
