Virulence and growth in IFN-α-R−/− mice. Groups of 6-week-old mice were infected, i.p., with 103 PFU of rMVEV, NS1-2A cleavage site mutants, or plaque size variants derived thereof, and morbidity and mortality recorded daily (a).
