CuPcS Toxicity in Cervical Epithelial Cells and PBMCs. Copper phthalocyanine sulfate (CuPcS) was combined with two cervical epithelial cell lines (ME-180 and TZM-BL) and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) at increasing concentrations in quadruplicate. Toxicity was measured as percent viable cells determined by MTT assay or trypan blue exclusion with epithelial cells or PBMCs, respectively, after 48 h of incubation with CuPcS. A dose response effect is observed with increasing concentrations. CC50 values: TZM-BL = 973.7, and ME-180 = 662.6
