Analysis of type I IFN responses and viral titres after infection of HD-11 cells with various segment-exchange mutant viruses. HD-11 cells were infected with the indicated viruses at an MOI of 0.05 TCID50/cell. After 24 h the supernatants were analysed for type I IFN bioactivity (A and B). In parallel, corresponding virus titres were determined at 8 h and 24 h after infection (C and D). The data represent the mean values with standard deviations obtained from four independent experiments performed at least in triplicate. The asterisks (*) indicate statistical significant differences between selected viruses compared to Yama (A) or to Vac-Yama/HA (B) calculated with the students t-test (p < 0.05).
