Vaccination schedule and viral challenge period of in vivo experiment. Mice were given a first followed by a second immunization and third immunization. The sera samples were collected at 14, 28 and 42 days after immunization. The immunized mice were challenged intraperitoneally with a lethal dose of 5 × 106 pfu of the JEV (SA14 strain). The health of each mouse was assessed twice daily.
