Parental VP2/3 is not seen in nuclei of LT-expressing cells infected with BrdU-labeled SV40. Cells infected with BrdU-labeled SV40 were fixed and co-immunostained for LT (Cy3) and VP2/3 (FITC) at 12 hours post-infection. Nuclei are labeled with DAPI in the bottom right panel. VP2/3-containing entities were readily seen in the cytoplasm and at the nuclear periphery of LT-expressing cells, but no VP2/3 was ever detected in the nuclei of these cells. The size bar corresponds to 10 microns.
