Global comparison of ability of 16 different influenza T-B and B-T peptides, HIV gag peptide (HIV) and recombinant A/New Caledonia/20/99 hemagglutinin protein (rHA NC) to induce proliferation of human PBMCs, as tracked by [3H] thymidine incorporation. Stimulants were tested in triplicate and the most outlying value was discarded for each count. Stimulation Index is given as the ratio between the number of cells dividing in response to antigen-stimulation and unstimulated cells ± SEM. Individual SI values (as presented in Figure 8a) are shown by black circles, while mean SI values across all donors is represented by a bar. All peptides had a p-value lower than 0.0001 in a Mann Whitney test.
