Viral load in guinea pig tissues after aerosol exposure to EEEV. Guinea pigs were exposed to aerosolized EEEV strains NJ1959 (open symbols) or ArgM (filled symbols) at a dose of 1 × 106 PFU; each day four guinea pigs from each group were necropsied and samples of liver (A), brain (B), lung (C) or blood (D) were taken for virology. Graphs showed averaged viral load in PFU/g ± the standard deviation for each day postexposure.
