From: Induction of cell-cell fusion by ectromelia virus is not inhibited by its fusion inhibitory complex
ECTV infection induces cell-cell fusion and cellular damage in mouse lung epithelium. BALB/c mice were infected with either mock or 10LD50 of ECTV by the intranasal route. At days 4-6 post infection, the animals were sacrificed and lung samples were analyzed by hematoxylin-eosine as well as immunohistochemical staining.
