Amino acid residues conserved in all the above-described sequences are shaded in light gray. The different amino acids between donkey and equine tetherin are shown in a black circle. Three Cys residues which are important for dimerization, are shown in a black background. Two putative N-glycosylation sites are marked with a black triangle.
