Remarkable inflammatory cell infiltration is observed in the muscle of the heart. (B) MCPyV large T antigen cannot be detected by immunohistochemistry in the inflammatory cells and myocardial cells. Inset indicates a positive control of Merkel cell carcinoma which had 0.7 copy per cells of MCPyV by real-time PCR.
