Caveolin-1 is not required for JEV entry. PK15 cells were transfected with siRNA targeting caveolin-1 or non-targeting siRNA (siCtrl) and infected with JEV at 48 h post-transfection, 36 hpi. (A) The percentage of internalized viruses of transfected cells was determined by flow cytometry and normalized to the value for the siCtrl. The results are presented as the mean ± SD of three independent experiments. (B) JEV E protein was analyzed by western blot analysis. β-actin was used as an internal loading control. -, control without JEV infection. The mean densities of protein bands were measured by ImageJ software, and the results for each gel are shown as a bar graph under the immunoblot.
